The judge who sentenced this sexual predator is Rosemarie Aquilina. Larry Nassar abused over 150 women, including Gabby Douglas, Simone Biles, and Aly Raisman. Uhm yeah. Judicial professionalism is kind of important. She is showing what can only be described as a potential high amount of bias. Bias should forever and always be rejected at all costs from a courtroom. She looks WAY TOO EMOTIONALLY VESTED. Doing this in any case, with or without hard evidence, can easily cast reasonable doubt because of a potential biased judge.
The problem with her grandstanding for the cameras is that it creates an easy opening for him to appeal the sentence. She’s undermining her own judgement by establishing a clear argument for bias.
The current political climate has created this air of self-righteousness where people thumb their nose at someone the see as lesser or deviant and come off looking like a douche. I’m not defending Nassar in any way, but she managed to capitalize on the situation for the media and came off looking like someone who takes a personal interest in enforcing not just legal justice, but social justice.
