I don’t know how much of it is him being this sort of character and how much it is due to author’s inconsistency especially remembering she said that if Ash hadn’t died him and Eiji would have parted ways in any case and it would have been alright this way which kind of clashes with what we see of their soulmate like connection (4)

angofwords:

This is a really complicated question, and while it deserves an equally complicated answer, the best I have is this. I think that Ash truly believes that, given enough time, Eiji will eventually see him for what he “really is” (read: irredeemable because of the things he’s done) and cease to love him. By keeping Eiji safe and away from him, he gets to continue to keep his love. Like what he told Blanca, how he’d consider Eiji his friend forever, even if he can’t see him.

Ash is broken. Really, really broken. I’m not sure there’s a force in the world that could convince him that he deserves to be happy with Eiji. Once Eiji realizes it, it’ll be that much more brutal. So maybe by pushing him away, not only is he putting Eiji’s (physical) well being first, he’s doing something selflessly, which puts him a fraction closer to deserving him. At least, I think that’s a probable mindset for him.

I wish I could do better, because you’re right. If Ash had any idea how his death would damage Eiji, he’d be more careful. But sadly, he doesn’t have any idea at all.

Yeah, so Symbrock dethroning Klance on the Fandometrics is more of a pyrrhic victory than an actual victory.

Like the whole Devilman Crybaby thing where antis got enthusiastically into the canon while banning every other shipper from it because only ANTIS are allowed to enjoy problematic content without spiraling downwards into HELLISH SIN.

(ಠ_ಠ)

I mean, it’s not really a victory if antis are still occupying the #1 spot (kinda like how Bubbleline forced them to “make way” since there was so much backlash over antis refusing to share the spot with Rupphire last time & they HAVE to keep up their image that they actually care about “pure unproblematic lesbian couples” because they’re not gross nasty fujoshi like those SHEITHS.)

Semi-related, but an interesting point:

Food for thought.

Pffffff

People are calling Banana fish a racist and PRO PEDOFILE??? Anime, when it’s a criticism against those topics, good anime always receive criticism, today nobody can handle jokes, dark stories because they are too sensitive, people are saying it’s racist because they kill Skip early but they kill tons of whites before, like, BF killed more whites than any other race and it’s still considered racist, Arthur is a racist character, that’s why he is unlikeable, Ash is the MC and a non racist, rape victim, and a good boy but yeah, for SJW BF is a pedo anime, I wonder how they survive to the world being that stupid.
