woke brain 3: Insisting that a female character with a canonical male interest is lesbian then get mad and call artists “filthy heteros” for drawing fanart of the canon couple and demanding that they stop “erasing her sexuality” or giving them a cookie with fucking needles in it.
Woke brain 4: Insisting that a female character that is canonical married and happy with male interest is a lesbian. And ignored/shaming others that say, said female character can be bisexual. Followed by yelling at anyone that doesn’t see female character ONLY as a lesbian
it’s amazing how people on this hellsite would rather see someone in a relationship with someone that they’re not attracted to rather than even considering that they might be bisexual
This reminds me so much of the Incredibles fandom after the release of the second movie. Sure, destroy Helen Parr’s perfectly healthy, mutually respectful, loving relationship with her husband of +15 years with whom they had three children to ship her with a supervillain who enslaved her and tried to kill her several times in the name of representation.
They started that shit of Helen being a lesbian even before that. Because she waved two girls form her motorcycle. Just that, just a hello and they went instantly “uwu lesbian”
remember y’all, if you headcanon a woman as attracted to men because she’s had crushes on them and dated them in canon, you’re a bad filthy cis hettie who’s been brainwashed by heteronormativity. on the other hand, if a woman smiles or waves at another girl even once, she’s totally a pure lesbian and cannot be attracted to men (even if/especially that’s directly contradicted by canon). progressive!
So progressive to reinforce the idea that a “lesbian” doing anything around another female person is hitting on them. This totally isn’t the basis for half of anti-lesbian/perceived as such hate crimes, especially against people who read as butch lesbians. I’m totally not constantly afraid that some customer at work will file a complaint against me for sexual harassment or even pedophilia, just because I’m butch presenting and smile at people (including women) like I’m supposed to for my job as a waitress.
